suppose u r told that the linear size of everything in the universe has been doubled overnight.can you test this statement by measuring sizes wid a metre stick?can u test it by using the fact that the speed of light is a universal constant and has nt changed??what will happen if all the clocks in the universe also start running at half the speed???

We can calculate the size of universe by assuming speed of light as a universal constant. If the size of the universe has become double then the light will travel a particular distance in double the time the light travelled when the size of universe was not changed.
