open category is general category. students who doesnt have any reservations , will be awarded ranks in open category generally terned all india rank xxxx. students who belongs to oc cast will be awarded rank in open category. oc students who get a rank below 6000-7000 only can get an iit admission in a good college. if any one want to choose their college , they hav to get below 2000 rank in open category.top ranks of open category are only published.
