BITSAT – The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test or BITSAT is a computer-based online test conducted as an entrance test to all the first degree programs offered at any of the the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) campuses. BITS has three campuses at present – Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. BITS Pilani is the oldest of the three and is responsible for conducting BITSAT and selecting candidates for all the three campuses.
Candidates who have passed their 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Central or State Board, with at least 80% overall and 60% marks in each of these three subjects along with adequate proficiency in English, can appear for BITS Admission Test. However, board toppers and all those who have achieved first rank at their respective boards level in class 12th are guaranteed direct admission to any BITS program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score.

BITS Pilani is a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Students admitted in M.Sc(Hons.) programme may appear for a competition at the end of the first year at their respective campuses. The chosen ones at the competition can avail dual degree programmes, allowing them to earn a B.E. (Hons.) or a B.Pharm.(Hons.) degree alongside their Masters degree.
