BITSAT 2016 Counselling Procedure & Schedule

BITSAT 2016 Counselling Procedure & ScheduleIt is expected that BITSAT counselling 2016 will start right from July. Once the merit list has been drawn up, the week-long counselling process will mainly have only two steps:

  • BITSAT 2016 Document Verification, and

  • Seat Allotment in Various BITS campuses and courses.

As many as four iterations of BITSAT counselling process are expected to take place which will get over by Last Week of July, 2016.

Students with higher ranks are called to attend the first round of counselling and get a chance to choose their college and course first. A waitlist is also published after each round of counselling, so that students with lower marks can hope for a seat if someone with a higher rank opts out of a particular course or college.

Students with lower ranks are called for second, third and fourth rounds of counselling in the decreasing order of their ranks until all the seats are full.

Actual BITSAT 2016 counselling dates are declared once the BITSAT Entrance Test for all the students is over. As soon as the BITS Admissions Department will upload BITSAT 2016 counselling schedule on the official website, we will update this page with the latest information.

Step-by-Step BITSAT 2016 Counselling Procedure

  • Once BITSAT first Admit List 2016 comes out on 1st Week of July, 2016, eligible candidates should fill up BITSAT 2016 Counselling Application online where students have to fill in their Class 12 marks and indicate the choice of campuses and courses.

  • Filled in application form should be printed and posted to the institute with attested copies of Class X certificate and Class 12 marks sheet and BITSAT 2016 counselling fee of Rs 250/-.

  • Do not forget to note down the application number for future reference.

  • Once the seat allotment is done, chosen candidates have to pay Rs 98,700/- (which includes the admission fee and the fee of one semester) while waitlisted candidates have to pay just the BITSAT Admission fee of Rs 20,200/-.

Points to remember

  • Total number of seats on offer at BITS institutions is 2,200. Besides these, NIIT University also accepts BITSAT scores.

  • A call for counselling does not mean that you will necessarily be allotted a seat. The actual seat allotment will depend on your BITSAT score, your marks in Class 12th boards and several other factors.
