Conservation of Momentum

There are certain phenomena in Physics which have various applications in other areas of Physics too. These phenomena by themselves have some importance, but they are more important when used in other areas. Conservation of momentum and collision is one such phenomenon. It is extensively used in other areas like Mechanics, Modern Physics, and Heat etc. If conservation of momentum was not known, many problems of other areas would not have been solved. In this chapter this concept has been introduced.

"Conservation of Momentum" is one of the important chapters of Mechanics in the Physics syllabus of IIT JEE, AIEEE and other engineering examinations. The law of Conservation of Momentum and the concept of Centre of Mass, Collisions are not only new to the student but are also very important from the examination point of view.
