The IIT JEE exam consists of two papers-Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours' duration. Paper 1 consists of 28 questions each for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. And, Paper 2 consists of 19 questions each for Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

Paper 1 will be conducted from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and Paper 2 will be held from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Those who have taken the 12th examination OR have passed Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination OR have taken the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling OR have a 3 or 4 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education OR have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level are eligible to sit for IIT JEE.
