The Joint Entrance Examination, Main popularly called as JEE  Main is the National Level examination conducted for the students seeking admission in Undergraduate Engineering Programmes at the NITs IIITs, and other government-funded Engineering institutes.

JEE Main is also the eligibility for JEE Advanced which is the entrance exam for admission to programmes offered by the IITs.

The exam will be conducted twice a year: in January and in April. There are two papers in the exam: Paper 1  for B.E & B.Tech and Paper 2 is for B.Arch & B.Planning.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2020 as released by The National Testing Agency (NTA) is as follows:

  1. Age Limit: Students with date of birth on or after October 1, 1995, will be eligible. The Reserved category candidates have been given relaxation in Age Limit as per the Government norms.
  2. Year of Passing Qualifying Examination: Students who passed their XII or equivalent exam in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 are eligible for applying in JEE Main 2020.
  3. Subjects in Qualifying Examination: Students with Physics and Mathematics along with either Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology are eligible for Paper 1 of JEE Main 2020. For Paper 2, Mathematics is a mandatory subject with 50% aggregate in 5 subjects. Candidates must have 5 subjects in their qualifying paper.
  4. Number of Attempts: Students can appear for the exam thrice, that too in consecutive years. Appearing for both the sessions in the same year will be counted as a single attempt.

 

The Application Form

  1. Every candidate is required to fill only one application form. Multiple Application is subject to rejection.
