JEE Advanced 2014-Toppers Preferred Computer Science Branch at IIT-Indore

Computer science branch at the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore has become the most sought after branch among the JEE Advanced 2014 toppers. A significant increase in the enrolment in computer science branch at IIT-Indore has been noticed among the top rank holders in the IIT-JEE. These toppers preferred IIT-Indore over the new IITs, including those at Bhubaneshwar, Gandhinagar Mandi & Jodhpur.

In the last three years, there has been a good progress in the opening and closing ranks for computer science branch at IIT-Indore. For the year 2014, the opening and closing ranks in computer engineering branch remained between 1,388 and 2,573 after the JEE advanced counseling was concluded.

“The main reason behind the rising interest towards computer science branch at IIT-Indore is its placement records and career prospects. Moreover, students studying under this branch have been creating excellence at international level competitions and other platforms.”- said the institute official.

Recently, a team from computer engineering branch of IIT-Indore secured a place in ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest held in Russia. This year, IIT-Indore computer science branch student received the highest pay package.  While, the highest pay package offered during recent on-campus placement was Rs. 21 LPA, a student grabbed Rs. 60, 00,000 LPA job through off-campus placement.

A total of 119 B.Tech students from 17 states would be the part of the new batch in computer engineering branch of IIT-Indore. There will be an orientation and registration programme for the new batch on July 22. Classes for the 2014 batch will start from July 23 as scheduled.
