Direct admission offered to 1st rank candidates by BITS institution

BITS, Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani is now offering direct admission to candidates who have passed out with distinction or achieved the 1^st rank in Grade 12 exam which is held by the state and central boards. Candidates who have achieved the 1^st rank can easily apply for any program they desire to pursue. The scores of BITS Admission Test 2014 will not be considered while giving the admission to these students. As per the official site, with the board-topper scheme lots of meritorious students from all across the globe are taking admission to BITS.

The deadline for submitting the application forms as well as the 250 Rs. admission fees is 30^th June 2014. The wait list and the admit list was finally released on 1st July, 2014. In order to get the admission directly, students need to have minimum 75 percent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.  This is necessary if they opt for Mathematics in BITSAT. On the other hand, it is necessary for the candidates to have minimum 75 percent in Biology, Chemistry and Physics if they opt for Biology.

The PCM stream toppers can take admission to the first degree programs according to their choice and the PCB stream toppers can take admission only in the B. Pharma (Hons) program. One can register online under the board topper scheme. BITSAT 2014 conducted by the BITS Pilani was held between May 14th (Wednesday) – 29th (Thursday), 2014. This is a national entrance examination for granting admission to the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons). These integrated First Degree programs include courses like Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics etc. It also serves as the gateway for M.Sc. programs like Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, etc. as well as B Pharm honors programs and M. Sc. (Tech) programs.
