Applications Invited For NRI Students From CAPE Engineering, Kerala

Applications have been invited for admission to the B. Tech courses under NRI quota in the following Engineering Colleges under Co‐operative Academy of Professional Education, CAPE, Kerala, for the Academic Year 2013-2014-

Academic eligibility for admission-
The academic qualifications for admission to the NRI quota seats in the Engineering Courses are exactly same as prescribed in the Prospectus of admission to Professional Degree courses ‐ 2014 in KEAM issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, CEE, Kerala / relevant Government orders / admission rules of CAPE that made applicable for admission to NRI quota and subject to the regulations of University to which the college is affiliated, plus also subject to the rules relating to age limits and medical standards.

Students who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of Board of Higher Secondary Education Kerala or examination recognized equivalent thereto, possessing 50 % marks in Mathematics separately, plus 50 % marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics put together are eligible for admission to B. Tech courses. Nonetheless, candidates who have obtained 45 % marks in Mathematics separately with 60 % aggregate marks in Physics and Chemistry put together are also eligible for admissions. If at all, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, then the marks obtained in Computer Science would be considered. Also, in case the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science both, then the marks obtained in Biotechnology would be considered. And, if the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science and biotechnology, any of these, then the marks obtained in Biology would be considered.

Relaxation in marks-
For all courses offered, candidates belonging to SEBC with a total annual family income not exceeding Rs.6 lakhs would have a relaxation of 5 % marks in the qualifying exams. They need only 45 % marks in the case of Mathematics and 45 % marks in the case of optional subjects collectively. And, in such cases, candidates should produce income certificate as proof at the time of admission.

The SC or ST candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination for admission to B. Tech courses.

Age limit-
Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on 31. 12. 2014. Any age relaxation in the minimum age will NOT be allowed.

Application Fee-
The application fee for B.Tech courses under NRI quota seats would be Rs600 /‐ which should be settled only by way of Demand Draft drawn on State Bank of Travancore. It should be in the favour of the Principal of concerned Engineering Colleges respectively.
Separate applications with prescribed fee should be given to each College if admission is tried for in more than one Engineering College. Here, no fee concession would be allowed to SC / ST / SEBC / OBC / OEC candidates.
The completed application together with application fee of Rs600 /‐ and all supporting documents attested by a Gazetted Officer should be submitted to the office of the Principals of concerned Engineering Colleges.
