two point charges of charge q1 and q2 and each of mass m are placed such that gravitation attraction between them balances the electrostatic repulsion . are they in stable equilibrium ? if not then what is the nature of equilibrium

No it is not a stable equilibrium.
It is a neutral equilibrium.
As initial contional is
Gmm/r2 = kq1q2/r2
So Gmm = kq1q2
If we increase or decrease distance between them.
there will be no effect on their equilibrium condition.
