work done in bringing

first charge = 0

second charge = Q*(potential due to already present charge) = Q*KQ/a = KQ²/a

third charge = Q*(potential due to already present charge) = Q*(KQ/a + KQ/ $\sqrt{2}$ )

fourth charge = Q*(potential due to already present charge) = Q*(2KQ/a + KQ/ $\sqrt{2}$ )

and total energy of system will be equal to sum of all above work done.
