Please explain the graph and how to get the answer...

Q1 is negative since at x=0 , electric field is towards the left and is infinity. Q2 is positive since E field is acting in negative x direction. After x=a then Electric field is in positive direction and continues to decrease. Since q1 is greater than q2 it becomes 0 at a point .
