The electric flux through closed surface is zero.
flux through plane surface + flux through curved surface =0
(\pi R^{2}/2)*(E/\sqrt{2})*cos180 + (\pi R^{2}/2)*(E/\sqrt{2})*cos180 + flux through curved surface =0
- (\pi R^{2})*(E/\sqrt{2}) + flux through curved surface =0
flux through curved surface = (\pi R^{2}E/\sqrt{2}).
