In the figure magnitude of force experienced by Q is In the figure magnitude of force experienced by Q is
As it's a symmetrical figure, let's consider the diagonals. On the diagonal with 4q and 2q, Q is repelled towards 2q, with a force equal to F = K4Qq/r^2 -K2Qq/r^2=K2Qq/r^2 Here, r can be found using Pythagorean theorum, which is a/√2. Similarly, on other diagonal, we have a repulsion towards q.With a force of K2Qq/r^2. Now, since they are equal forces with a 90 degree angle in between, we can simply use the result from addition of vectors. It'll be equal to F√2 So, finally, magnitude will be equal to 4√2*( KQq/a^2).:)
