The value of q will be -4Q so that the system is in equilibrium.

System will be in equilibrium if net force on each charge particle is zero.
Let the distance betwwen AB = r then AO =BO = r/2.
Force on q is zero as it is at mid point of AB
For equilibrium force on Q must be zero
So FQ = FQq + FQQ
FQ = kQq/(r/2)2 + kQQ/r2 = 0
So 4q + Q =0
then q = -Q/4.
