Displace the particle at P upwards ,it will experience net upward force and hence will give unstable equilibrium. Unstable equilibrium. : a state of equilibrium of a body such that when the body is slightly displaced it departs further from the original position Stable eqilibrium : a state of equilibrium of a body such that when the body is slightly displaced it tends to return to its original position I have put my best to explain.If you are unable to get please do write I will try to explain again.And please If my answer is correct do approve my answer!!
