Net force on a dipole is zero as both the charges are oppositely pulled.

But if the dipole makes some angle with electric field it experiences a torque that will try to align itself with the electric field(its a restoring torque) it is equal to,

Here(P) is equal to dipole moment,(E)is equal to electric field,(q)is equal o magnitude of one of the charge of dipole,(2a) is the length of dipole and ( ) is the angle between the electric field and dipole axis.
