What is the electric field lines made up of so as to exert a force on any charged  particle in its vicinity?

Dear Anshuman,

The electric field lines are actually the paths along which unit +ve charge eletric field and unit north pole in case of magnetic field move.

These lines are not made actually made of any physical thing its just a theoritical concept..And much of its explaination i.e. about field lines and its interaction is studied in detail in quantum electrodynamics which is of high conceptual level which u need not need to study..
