Dear Vikash,

1.There are two kinds of charges. It was a historical accident to name one of it + and the other -

The ancient name for + was vitreous and that of – was resinous.

The magnitude of charge for proton and electron are the same but the nature of charge is different.

2.the rubbing on some surfaces make them charge..

 phonograph-record is one of them.....

static charges appear on the disk as they r rubbed.... other ex are comb, plastic chairs (beaten up by toowel) etc.

these charges attract dust particles( -ve charges, usually)...........!!!

soon after cleaning..!!!
