why q proportional to v is taken
Hi,
The cause for the appearence of charge q on the plates of a capacitor is the applied Voltage.
Thus, greater the applied voltage, greater is the charge that will appear on the Capacitor.
Hence we take q proportional to V
A proportional to B
is same as saying
B is proportional to A
All that matters is the linear Relationship between the two physical quantities.
