a negative point charged is moved from a(where all are joint) to several possible final points b in figure.which path requires the greatest amount of external work to move the particle?
two figure is given for clear view .pls give me answer with reason
Dear piyush
Electric field lines flow from low to high potential.
so work will have to be done in the direction of electric field for moving a negative charge.
so only A,B,and C paths are possible.
also W=q(Vb-Va)
and the difference of potential is max in case of path B.
SO max. work will be done in path B.
