In this question we have current leading, so its a capacitive circuit. Now, are we supposed to stick with the Xl-Xc or we will change it to Xc-Xl?

Dear stuent 
You can note that in formula of Impedance of RLC circuit , 
The  X = sqrt (R^2 + (Xl – Xc )^2) 
So, it is whole square , you can take Xl – Xc when current leads and Xc – Xl when voltage lead.
