Dear student Stomata are present on the lower surface of the leaves, these help in the gaseous exchange. Stomata are surrounded by gaurd cells which are in turn surrounded by subsidiary cells, therefore their inner wall is thicker than the outer layer. However, Guard cell do posses chloroplast but mitochondria are absent.
