Hint: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl) is a cost-effective and versatile thermoplastic polymer used to make door and window profiles, pipes (drinking and wastewater), wire and cable insulation, and medical devices, among other things. After polyethylene and polypropylene, it is the world's third largest thermoplastic material by volume. Complete answer: PVC is an insulator, so wires are coated with it to keep us from getting electric shocks. Electric wires are made of metals that conduct electricity, such as copper, but they are coated with rubber. As a result, it's an excellent material for electrical applications like cable insulation sheathing. Another benefit of PVC-insulated wires is that they are completely safe to use. They go through a lot of testing and research to make sure they meet all safety regulations. They are also non-toxic and have been found to be less harmful to the environment than their competitors. Though the wires may burn when they are exposed to fire, they will stop burning once the source of the fire is removed. It's worth noting that instead of producing burning drops, they're more likely to become charred. As a result, the likelihood of the fire escalating or spreading quickly is reduced. The main advantage of rubber cables over other insulated cables is their excellent temperature range flexibility. They also have a high-water absorption capacity. Note: With the passage of time, PVC insulated wires have begun to take the place of rubber insulated wires in household wiring. These PVC wires are simpler to work with and more cost-effective. They have a longer lifespan of over 30 years.
