Arabian sea branch is located at western side of India whereas the Bay of Bengal branch is in the northeastern part of the Indian Ocean which is bounded on the west and northwest by India. Complete Answer: THE ARABIAN SEA BRANCH 1. Arabian Sea branch flows over India. 2. It occupies a total area of about 3862000 square kilometers . 3. This branch is stronger than the bay of bengal branch. 4. It enters Indian land mass after going over a vast officer during this period it collects a lot of moisture. 5. The monsoon coming from this branch contributes 65% humidity. 6. It is more important branch than bay of bengal branch. 7. It currently advances to the major part of India. THE BAY OF BENGAL 1. The Bay of Bengal branch flows over Myanmar and Thailand. 2. It occupies a total area of about 2172000 square kilometers. 3. It is weaker than the branch of arabian sea. 4. It carries a shorter distance and collects less moisture. 5. The monsoon coming from this branch contributes only 35% to the humidity. 6. It is less important in comparison to arabian sea branch. 7. It currently advances to the nearby regions i.e. only the minor part of India. Note: In the Gangetic Plains both the two branches merge into one. The meeting point of these two branches Arabian sea branch and the Bay of Bengal branch is at Kanyakumari Beach. They both meet with the Indian Ocean there.
