A shopkeeper allows 25% discount on the marked price of his articles and hence gains 25% of the Cost Price. What is the marked price of the article on selling which he gains Rs. 120?

Let M.P be 100 Rs.
Allowing 25% discount SP = Rs. 75
As Gain is 25% on CP,
When CP is Rs. 100, Gain is Rs 25 and SP is Rs 125
So let CP be x
Therefore, profit is SP – CP
                        = 75 – x
BTP,
      75 – x/ x = 25
 or x = 75 / 26
