Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Main 2015 exam was held on April 4, 2015 in pen-and-paper based mode. Out of 13 lakh students who have registered for JEE Main 2015, many appeared for the exam in offline mode. Overall, the paper this year was only ‘moderately difficult’ but the Physics section in the paper was said to be the toughest of all.
JEE Main 2015 Paper I exam, which is held for admission to BE or B.Tech courses, is divided into 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section contains 30 questions of 4 marks each. Hence, each section is worth 120 marks while the question paper is worth 360 marks in total. Read the detailed analysis of the entire JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 exam by askIITians experts here.
First let us tell you what our students thought about the paper. According to them:

JEE Main 2015 Physics Paper Class-wise Distribution of Questions:
There were 17 questions from Class XII whereas 13 questions were asked from Class XI syllabus. So, slightly more weightage was given to Class XII syllabus this year. However, it is not necessary that online JEE Main to be conducted on April 10 and 11 will have a similar weightage system – so do not skip anything during revision.

Important Topics: There were 3 questions from 'Magnetic Field and its effects on Current', and 2 each from EMI & AC, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, KTG & Thermodynamics, Rigid Body Dynamic, Modern Physics & Geometrical and Physical Optics.
Less important Topics: No questions were asked from Semi-conductors and Surface Tension on April 4.
This year, Physics section was little tougher as compared to previous years’ papers. There were 9 very easy questions which could be solved very quickly and conveniently but as many as 6 Physics questions were very difficult. Students had hard time solving these questions. But again those candidates, who were able to solve them correctly, would definitely be at higher side.
