Counselling Checklist for JEE Advanced You Can’t Do Without

Counseling Procedure for JEE Advanced 2015: This procedure is comprised of JEE Advanced Counselling registration process, choice filling, choice locking, allotment of seats, reporting to the allotted institutes, and provisional admissions. Candidates must note that registration for the Counseling Procedure for JEE Advanced 2015 is conducted only online. Candidates should check the outstanding features of the Counselling Procedure.

The Counselling Procedure comprises of the following steps: (It should be noted that only those candidates eligible with All India Rank (AIR) at JEE Advanced 2015 can fill their choices as demonstrated below).

(I) Online Registration for JEE Advanced 2015 Counselling Procedure:

  • To register online, you need to enter the following:

    1. Roll Number of JEE (Advanced): As stated in JEE Advanced 2015 Admit Card

    2. Registration Number of JEE (Advanced): As stated in JEE Advanced 2015 Admit Card

    3. Date of Birth: As stated in JEE Advanced 2015 Admit Card

    4. Password: Should comprise of anywhere between 8 and 15 characters

    5. Confirmation of Password

    6. Candidates should make a note of the system-generated Registration Number or User ID along with the password that they have set.

(II) Online Choice Filling: Will be conducted in the last week of June 2015

  • Candidates need to login in order to fill their desired choices according to the preferences of institutes, branches, and courses. They must log in using User ID or Registration Number, JEE Advanced 2015 Roll Number and Password.

  • Candidates can fill in multiple choices from the list of available seats in order of preference. It is advised that candidates should fill in at least 50 choices.

  • Candidates have the ability to change, reorder, or edit their choices and add new choices until the final locking.

  • Candidates must remember to verify and lock their ultimate choices by the scheduled date, failing which their choices will be locked automatically.

  • Post locking (after a minimum number of 50 choices), it is advised that candidates should obtain a printout of their choices for additional safety.

  • If candidates do not have access to JCOP, they need to inform the helpline of JEE Advanced to resolve the problem.

  • Seat allocation for JEE Advanced 2015 will be carried out based on the All India Rank secured by candidates.

  • Candidates need to fulfill additional criteria for fitness for courses in Mining Machinery Engineering, Mining Engineering, and other related courses.

  • In a similar manner, candidates who desire admission in Petroleum Engineering-related courses and M.Sc. Tech. Applied Geology need to be free from color blindness. Note: ISM Dhanbad does not give admission to women candidates to the courses in Mining Machinery Engineering, Mining Engineering, and other related courses.

(III) Online Seat Allotment for JEE Advanced 2015

  • Seat Allocation for JEE Advanced 2015 will be completed in 3 rounds according to the schedule mentioned below.

  • Candidates need to log in using their User ID/Registration number, Roll number, and Password for checking their seat allotment.

  • Candidates must check their seat allotment at the closure of each round.

  • Allotments could change on account of upgrades. Therefore, candidates need to be careful.

  • During online allocation of seats, the soft copy of the category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) that were uploaded during the registration process will be closely scrutinized. If the certificate is unacceptable, candidates will be viewed as GE only if their marks obtained in Paper-I of JEE Main 2015 are higher than the declared cutoff score.

  • Note: Post allocation of seats, candidates need to proceed with Online Payment in order to book their provisional seat allocation.

(IV) Online Provisional Admission for JEE Advanced 2015

  • Post allotment, candidates need to pay the admission fee as follows: GE and OBC: Rs 60,000; SC/ST/PwD: Rs 20,000

  • Fees can be paid through Payment Gateways (Credit card/Debit card/Internet Banking) and payment at the nearest branch

  • Candidates need to upload a Declaration on Acceptance form (generated in JOCSAP) after it is duly signed by the candidate and his or her parents, which states they are eligible for admission according to the “top 20 percentile cut off marks of their Board in their respective categories for the year of passing of the Qualifying Examination.”

  • Candidates also have to upload a scanned copy of their Class 12 exam marksheet

  • Candidates who have been allotted a seat for the 1st time during any one of the first 3 rounds need to physically report to the respective institute according to the specified dates that are mentioned on the website.

Reporting to the Institutes that have been allotted:

  • Candidates who have accepted the admission offer by paying the stipulated fees should take a printout of the allotment of the final course as well as the provisional admission letter issued by JOCSAP.

  • These candidates should report to the admitting institutes on the registration date as per the notifications in their respective web pages.

  • Candidates must be physically present for verification of certificates and payment of fees.

Documents to be submitted during the Reporting Procedure for JEE Advanced 2015:

Note: The original document in addition to one attested copy needs to be submitted during physical verification for obtaining provisional admission.

  • JEE Advanced 2015 Letter of Seat Allotment issued by JOCSAP portal

  • Original Admit Card for JEE Advanced 2015

  • JEE Advanced Application form duly filled according to Annexure 1 of the brochure

  • Medical Examination Report duly filled according to Annexure 2 of the brochure

  • Date of birth proof: Class 10/HSC/Birth certificate/Other certificate proving date of birth

  • SSC/Class XII/Equivalent exam Statement of Marks and Passing Certificate

  • Category Certificate (OBC [NCL]/SC/ST/PwD/DS) that has been issued by a competent authority according to the format specified in JEE Advanced 2015 brochure

  • For foreign candidates: Attested photocopy of Passport that contains name, photograph, and nationality of the student.
