The instrument used to find the angle of elevation and the angle of depression is known as inclinometer.It also has other names amongst which are tilt indicator,tilt meter etc.Their measurements are with respect to gravity.

the instrument used for the measurment of angle of elevation and depression. it is a surveyig instrument used for measuring height and distances using principles of trigonometry and measures of angle of elevation and depression with a rotating telescope.
