Dividing the given equation by cos^4 theta we get,
 
tan^4 theta + (tan^2 theta) x (sec^2 theta) = sec^4 theta 
 
changing sec into tan by formula
sec^2 theta = 1+ tan^2 theta
 
we get the answer 1
