In exam, they asked, write the range of sec-1x? I wrote [0,π] but not [0.π]-[π/2]. So will they cut marks? This was asked for 1 mark.

Yes they will cut the marks as this is the main trick part.

yes they will cut marks.
But note that the correct answer is neither [0,π] nor [0.π]-[π/2].
it should be [0, π] – {π/2}.
the curly braces shall be used rather than square brackets, and comma ll be used.
