how to find the value of x  in equations such as
acos x + bsin x ?
Is it      x=sin-1[( a2+b2)1/2tan-1(b/a)]     ?
the answer is very simple
the value of x is the square root of sum of squares of a and b
x=(a^2+b^2)^1/2

Dear Student,
a cos x + b sin x must be equal to a constant or some other expression only then can you find out the value of x, hope you understand what I mean, cause’ for an expression like a cos x + b sin x, you put any value of x and you get a different result, so you need to know the result before you think of finding the value of x.
Hope it helps!
