hey!! i am in 1st yr now. and wanna know how the authors know, where to substitute and modify the form the equation in trigonometry problems.. when we solve, we never get to know that we can use such tricks.. is it plain practice? or is there something more to it?? bcz when we dont get the required answer for about 5-6 problems continuosly, we tend to get demoralized.. whats the solution??? please help..

Hello student, please find answer to your question
There are methods of substitution.
Whenever you see the equation is converting into standard trigonometric identity by substition, then we apply the substituion method.
All the standard trigonometric identities should be on your tips.
Of course, the more questions you will practice, the better you will get in this field.
