1. A square tower stands upon a hoizontal plane. From a point in this plane, from which three of its upper corners are visible, their angular elevations are respectively 45, 60 and 45. Show that the height of the tower is to the breadth of one of its sides as [sqrt.6 x (sqrt.5 +1)]/4

if we project the problem on horizontal plane we get....

also again by cosine formula

we have cos2@=2cos^2@-1

so....using dis in dese two eqn we have

 

or

its one of d roots ...other being 1-rt5
