Dear student

Standard State Conditions

Standard state conditions are accepted arbitrary conditions at which to take and state measurements.

Standard state conditions are defined by Standard Temperature & Pressure (STP) with a temperature of 0 oC or 273.15 Kelvin (K) and a pressure of 1 atmosphere (1 atm = 101 325 Pa), temperature.

At STP (Standard Temperature & Pressure) 1 mol of ideal gas occupies 22.4 L.

Standard State Conditions are often denoted by the degree symbol as in the electric potential (E) at STD by Eo.
