Why pollonium oxygen does not show the oxidation state of +6

Pollonium and oxygen doesn`t exist in +6 oxidation state because they are non-metals. Because metals only have positive oxidation states since oxygen is a gas and Pollonium is a radioactive element they only have negative oxidation states.
