why is it useful to compare Q with K?in case of chemical equilibrium.do both mean the same???

yes, they are same . but as the formula only .. 
but their meaning are completely diffrent . 
when we are assuming to calculate Kc then the system is already at equilibrium , 
but when Qc then its called as reaction quotient and its for that time when the system will not be in equilibrium . 
u cannot use Kc when the system will not in equilibrium . 
so, for that reason we want to compare . 
the trends of the reaction are below 
if Qc >Kc then the reaction will proceed in the backward direction .. 
if Kc>Qc then reaction will be move in forward direction ..
