fecl3 preffered because it results in faster coagulation of blood.according to hardy schulze rule higher charge has a higher capacity to coagulate.kcl is monovalent wheras charge on fe is 3+.
another reason is that fecl3 does not lead to irritation whereas kcl.leads to irritation around the wounds.
