Why enthalpy of reaction is positive in endothermic reaction?

A system of reactants that absorbs heat from the surroundings in an endothermic reaction. Endothermic reaction has a positive enthalpy because the enthalpy of the products is higher than the enthalpy of the reactants of the system.As the enthalpy of the reactants is greater than zero, the enthalpy of the products should also be greater then zero and we take it positive.
