Dear student
While moving left to right in periodic table atomic size decreases but inert gases has maximum radii due to vanderwaal radius .

Atomic Radius / SIZE .
ATOMIC RADIUS OF AN ATOM  IS DEFINED  AS THE DISTANCE  BETWEEN THE  CENTER  OF ITS NUCLEUS  AND THE  OUTERMOST SHELL CONTAINING  THE VALENCE ELECTRON .
 VARIATION IN PERIOD :
ATOMIC RADIUS TEND TO  DECREASE  IN A PERIOD .
 VARIATION  IN GROUP :
ATOMIC RADIUS  OF ELEMENTS  INCREASE DOWN THE GROUP
[ BOTH ATOMIC RADIUS AND ATOMIC SIZE ARE SAME ]

Atomic radii decreases when we move from left to right across periodic table that is when we move left to right in a period because the number of valence electrons increases and the attraction between electron and the nucleous increases hence the shell shrinks towards the nucleous.
