The purpose of a salt bridge is not to move electrons from the electrolyte, rather it's to maintain charge balance because the electrons are moving from one-half cell to the other. The electrons flow from the anode to the cathode.

a salt bridge is a U-shaped bridge connected between 2 solutions.it provides an electric contact between the 2 solutions without allowing them to mix with each other. the salt bridge contains a solution of potassium chloride or ammonium nitrate usually boiled and cooled to a jelly like solution.
