For n = 3 and l = 2 (i.e., 3d orbital), the values of m varies from -2 to +2, -1, 0, +1, +2 and for each ‘m’ there are 2 values of ‘s’, i.e. +½ and –½ .
∴ Maximum no. of electrons in all the five d-orbitals is 10.
