The correct formula or method of finding out the distance between 2 layers of a CCP crystal is as following:-
First, dividing the area density of atoms within a plane by the volume density of atoms in the crystal is required.
Why? Because, this gives the distance between the chosen plane and the nearest parallel plane.
The distance between any two layers in a FCC or CCP crystal unit cell is equal to a/√3, where a is the edge length  in the case.
