oxidation number of Fe in Fe(scn)^2+
we have charge in thiocyanate ion=-1
let the charge on iron be x
The sum of the charge in the complex is +2
Thus, x+ (-1)=+2
x=+3
Thus the oxidation number of iron in Fe(SCN)^2+ is +3
