Volume strength (or volume percent) is an outdated term referring to the volume of oxygen gas liberated from one volume of H2O2 solution (at 00C and 1 atm.).
so for example
if the volume strength is given as 20-volumes, it means that 1cm3 of H2O2 will produce 20cm3 of oxygen gas.
