Gibbs free energy is the energy of a system which can be used for doing work.
Mathematically, Gibbs free energy(G) of a system is the enthalpy(H) of the system minus product of the temperatur(T) and entropy(S) of the system.
G=H-TS
Change in Gibbs free energy at constant temperature is:
ΔG = ΔH-TΔS

  1. The Gibbs free energy (SI units kJ/mol) is the maximum amount of non-expansion work that can be extracted from a thermodynamically closed system (one that can exchange heat and work with its surroundings, but not matter); this maximum can be attained only in a completely reversible process.
  2.
