What happens when hard water containing CaSO4 is treated with calgon

Calgon = Na6P6O18when hard water is treated with calgon CaSO4 is converted into CaCO3 which settle down as ppt and is removed from water so the hardness of water due to CaSO4 is removed by Calgon by Ion-exchange method.
