Hello Student
Whenever you add sugar of any other soluble solvent to a boiling water in appropriate amount, the boiling stops or slow down. The water containing solute again starts boiling after some time. This is because addition of solute lowers the vapour pressure of water because of which it is no more equal to the atmospheric pressure so the boiling stops.
