NYLON-6 – It is also known as perlon L.It is prepared by prolonged heating of caprolactum at 260-270 degree C.It is formed by self-condensation of a large number of molecules of amino caproic acid.So the monomer of nylon-6 is caprolactum.
NYLON-66 – It is formed by the condensation polymerisation of hexamethylenediamine( a diamine with six carbon atoms) and adipic acid which is a dibasic acid having 6-carbon atoms.
